Ingredients
Scale:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
3 ripe bananas, mashed
½ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
1 large egg
⅓ cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Optional: chopped nuts or additional banana slices for topping
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Whisk these dry ingredients together until well blended.
In another bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Stir in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
Pour the banana mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients. Gently fold until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips and any optional nuts or additional banana slices.
Evenly distribute the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about two-thirds full.
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
