Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, approximately 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the diced onions and carrots to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the onions are translucent.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, pepper, and flour. Cook while stirring for about 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in the frozen peas and shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Line a 9-inch pie dish with one pie crust, allowing the edges to hang over the sides.
  7. Pour the beef and cheese filling into the crust, spreading it evenly.
  8. Cover with the second pie crust, pinching the edges together to seal securely. Cut small slits in the top crust.
  9. If desired, brush the top crust with beaten egg.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
