These delightful rolls offer a perfect balance of sweet and savory, making them an ideal choice for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale:
8 oz goat cheese, softened
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup fresh figs, finely chopped
1 tablespoon honey (optional)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
4 large flour tortillas or wraps
Fresh basil leaves or arugula (for garnish)
Chopped walnuts or pecans (optional, for crunch)
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened goat cheese, cream cheese, chopped figs, honey (if using), black pepper, and sea salt. Use a fork to blend the ingredients thoroughly until smooth and creamy, which should take about 2-3 minutes.
Lay out a tortilla on a clean, flat surface. Spread a generous layer of the cheese and fig mixture over the entire surface of the tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
Starting from one edge, carefully roll the tortilla tightly into a log shape, ensuring that the filling stays intact.
Wrap each rolled tortilla in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Once chilled, remove the pinwheels from the refrigerator and unwrap. Use a sharp knife to cut the rolls into 1-inch wide slices. Arrange them on a platter and garnish with fresh basil or arugula and chopped nuts if desired.
