A delightful recipe for chocolate chip cookies that captures the rich flavor and texture of the classic treat, inspired by the Disney Grand Floridian Resort.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and sea salt.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped nuts, if using.
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers still look slightly underbaked.
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
