Instructions

  1. Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, which typically takes about 8–10 minutes depending on the type. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set the pasta aside.
  2. In the same pot, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped cabbage and sauté until it begins to soften, about 5–7 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking and prevent sticking.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the pot and sauté for an additional 1–2 minutes until fragrant, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
  4. Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Stir well to combine, allowing the cream to heat up for about 2 minutes without boiling.
  5. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese to the cream mixture, stirring continuously until melted and smooth, about 3-5 minutes. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
  6. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Once the sauce is creamy and well-combined, add the cooked pasta back into the pot. Toss to coat the pasta in the sauce and incorporate the sautéed cabbage evenly.
  7. Serve immediately with additional grated Parmesan on top and enjoy your Easy Cheesy Cabbage Alfredo!
