A delightful treat that is easy to make and requires minimal effort. This banana bread is perfect for breakfast or as an afternoon snack, featuring ripe bananas and crunchy walnuts.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup melted butter
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Whisk together until well blended.
In another bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth, then stir in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; the batter should be lumpy.
Fold in the chopped walnuts evenly throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
