Ingredients
Scale:
1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
2 tablespoons whiskey
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon whiskey
1 tablespoon soy sauce
4 slices beef bacon, cooked until crispy
4 slices aged cheddar cheese
1 large avocado, sliced
Fresh arugula or spinach
Pickled red onions (optional)
Burger buns, toasted
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, whiskey, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each.
Preheat your grill or stovetop to medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and add a slice of cheddar cheese to each. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese melts.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine maple syrup, whiskey, and soy sauce. Stir until the mixture simmers and thickens slightly, about 3-4 minutes.
In a separate skillet, cook the beef bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill. Layer with fresh arugula, place the cheesy beef patty on top, add crispy bacon, avocado, and drizzle with the whiskey maple glaze. Finish with the top bun.
