Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and return to pot.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Sauté chopped onions and minced garlic until fragrant, about 3-4 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as you go. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, and the egg. Mix until creamy.
  6. Mix cooked spaghetti with meat sauce. Layer half of this mixture into the bottom of the pie crust.
  7. Spread the cheese mixture over the spaghetti layer, then top with the remaining spaghetti mixture.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
