A refreshing homemade watermelon soda bursting with the natural sweetness of ripe watermelons, perfect for summer gatherings and BBQs.
Ingredients
Scale:
- 4 cups fresh watermelon, cubed (about 1 medium watermelon)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (approximately 1 lime)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust based on the sweetness of the watermelon)
- 2 cups carbonated water (club soda or sparkling water)
- Ice for serving
- Mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the watermelon in half and scoop out the flesh. Remove seeds as necessary.
- In a blender, add the watermelon cubes and blend until smooth, about 30 seconds.
- Pour the blended watermelon through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large bowl or pitcher to remove the pulp.
- Stir in the fresh lime juice and granulated sugar into the watermelon juice until dissolved.
- Slowly pour in the carbonated water to the watermelon mixture and stir gently to combine.
- Fill glasses with ice and pour the watermelon soda over the ice. Garnish with mint leaves if desired.
