4 cups of bolillo or French bread, cut into cubes
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup raisins
2 cups milk
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup melted butter
Chopped pecans or walnuts for topping
Additional cinnamon for sprinkling
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves until well combined.
Add the cubed bread to the mixture, ensuring that all pieces are soaked thoroughly. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.
Fold in the raisins, mixing gently to distribute them evenly throughout the bread mixture.
